ABOUT EMMY

Hi everyone! Thank you for visiting Pages and Colours and hope you’ll learn something from my posts here.

HOW I STUMBLED INTO ADULT COLOURING BOOKS

Just to share a little bit something about myself. I am a full time sales professional and I’ve been doing it for 14 years. This profession is really fast pace and stressful. I used to work long hours and was always on the go.

Eventually, I learned how to slow down and do something outside work. I’m always very keen on details. I love intricate designs and I love colours. I used to do some cross stitching when I was in college.

As I was so stressed with my job four years ago, I’d thought of doing cross stitch again. And then I came across a friend’s post on Facebook on adult colouring book. It featured Johanna Basford’s Secret Garden and fits very well to what I like… intricate and colours. The book was only sold online that time with limited copies and there was a wait. I ordered not only one, but two books including her second book the Enchanted Forest… and I waited… patience was a virtue.

When the books arrived, it changed my life. I always look forward to switching off and just be at the moment. Colouring has been therapeutic for me. That was four years ago, and I’m still doing it…and progressing 🙂

THIS IS MY PASSION

Colouring books for adults is my passion.

Aside from helping me cope with stress, it made me realise that things can be learned and developed as long as your heart is into it.

I’m not an artist and as a child I excelled more in Math and Sciences but not in arts. But things changed and I would like to share my journey with you.

MY COLOURING JOURNEY

In a world where everything is at the tip of our fingers, everything is expected to be fast and accessible, I find colouring as one of the ways to unplug. I’m working full time but I allot a time per day on colouring. It is where I feel like I strike a balance.

If you haven’t started colouring yet but are very keen, I am hoping to be a part of your journey. And to those who are already into it, let’s have fun and hope you can share your knowledge on this page too.

All the best,

Emmy
